holy fuck i havent done one of these for a while. i've been thinking of slightly changing up the site because i love how moody and cool mental-labour.neocities.org/ looks and reads, but i want to balance that with the cosy feel my page currently has. maybe i'll take notes and adjust my writing style? i think up to this point i've been trying to make it read more lighthearted but ive also maybe overcorrected lol. i'm also not entirely 110% happy with the writing ive been doing but its almost like its a skill that people go to school for

add rss feed at /feed.xml. needs a bit of tweaking because i use a lot of embeds for music players so the code the generates the xml needs to detect that and replace it with an image or link

big couple of months! replaced the ceiling and floor in my apartment and painted the walls on a microbudget. still feeling the physical ramifications of removing a popcorn ceiling by hand in my finger joints. dropped my apple pencil and broke the tip, just replaced it and am drawing digital again. wading through the uninspiring furniture options available in australia to refit my living space. watching lots of movies and am getting up to date on frieren and dungeon meshi. read frank herbert's dune and rewatched the 2022 film - feeling so-so on the story but absolutely in love with the world. looking for a larger creative project to work on, as well as building a 5 bay nas for legally acquiring copyrighted media

my general situation has stabilised a lot so i'm planning on doing a lot more on the site. i'm inspired by desert jaguar's scraps vs thoughts layout and i plan to keep migrating lists from my bookmarks and obsidian to the site - it feels like a great way to keep them in a centralised spot for my own use, as well as hopefully share some neat stuff with people who might not have seen them. i am finding the colour scheme is a little muddy for pages like cool game links so i'm going to toy with the colour scheme a little bit in the next couple of days

sorry for the lack of new posts! my life has been a little crazy recently between a lot of personal commitments and a lot of events going on this time of year. i'm taking part in an art exhibition in a month and a half which is very exciting, but it means that most of my art is iterative work on the same concepts that isn't desperately interesting to look at. i've been playing a lot of satisfactory and a lot of splatoon 3!

started playing tunic, i think i'm going to drop cave story because monster x is outrageously difficult. took part in this weekend's splatfest (go team power!). started watching girl's last tour, joshiraku and skip and loafer. went to an art exhibition and watched a painting tutorial, and completed a drawing of the artist that i'm pretty proud of
